The "day" started off at the moment the school dismissal bell rang. In order for Hannah to be able to come with us, she had to ride home with one of us after school, and I was volunteered for the job (and more than happy to do it). Once we got to my house, my dogs immediately attacked the poor girl with kisses and bad breath. Ah, and they were both very interested in her tail too haha... We hung out with them (my doggies) for awhile, and then we watched some completely hilarious videos on YouTube. After that, we tried to figure out my Playstation II and played a few minutes of a car racing game before Ben came to pick us up. During all of this, Sam called three times, Ben called once or twice, and Allen called as well.
It's great that I have a friend that's a girl now. In the past, I haven't thought of my guy friends or girl friends any differently from each other, although there's just something about being friends with someone your own gender that's nice. Possibly one thing is that my Mom secretly disapproves of my hanging out with only guys, but who knows.
When Ben and Sam came to the door, it was only 6:10pm, and we had been told that they would be there at 6:20pm. As a result, we weren't quite ready and had to put on our shoes and gather Hannah's things. We tried to get Mom to let her spend the night, but she said "no" because of my homework. (Actually, it was more one of those, "I'll let you, but if you do, I'll make your life hell," sort of responses.) So, once we got in the car, we were on our way and discussing that we were all not a dysfunctional family. Apparently Ben is the "dad", and since Hannah calls Sam "Clark" and Clark Kent was adopted, he is Ben's adopted son. Hannah is the daughter and since I'm the only other one that is legally an adult other than Ben, I am "mom". It seems that Ben may not actually be Hannah's dad or something of that nature due to something with the milkman or...yea, I got lost on all of this at some point. Moving on though, we soon got to Hideaway Pizza. It was pretty busy, so we were given one of those buzzing waiting ticket things and sat outside waiting for them to clear a table for us. Out there, we goofed around, discussed the state of our dysfunctional family, and scared the poor new girl in our group whose name was Amanda. Soon, we were let in the building and girl that was on my swim team last year was our waitress. A cheese and an pepperoni pizza were ordered, although I only ate from the cheese. We funned around while we ate and attracted all sorts of strange looks for people and when we were done eating, Ben insisted on paying for all of us. It was a sweet thing to do, but I felt sorry for him.
Upon finishing our food, we walked over to Starworld 20 theater and Sam picked her up at one point on the way over and slung her over his shoulder and she looked pretty scared he would drop her (I would be too!). We got tickets to watch Spiderman 3 and while waiting, Hannah and Sam played some sort of game that was similar to DDR...she completely pwned him on it. As gluttonous of a person as I am, I got some popcorn.
We all sat in the balcony section and Kayla, Amanda, and I sat in the second row, and Ben, Sam, and Hannah sat in the third row directly behind us. Although the movie wasn't exactly what I was expecting, it was still pretty good! I loved the classic goth vs. prep scenario that played out in it too. I won't lie--Emo Peter Parker is smexy
On the way back to Ben's jeep, we discussed venturing over to Wal-mart to get our moms Mother's Day cards and decided that it was a good idea. So, we all got in and off we went. As usual, Ben's driving was nerve-racking, but we lived...even if he did wind up driving through some of Walmart's grass instead of finding a part of the road to turn into haha... We all picked up cards, had a few nice moments of an inside joke, and then Amanda and Kayla back to the theater where Kayla's car was. On the way home, we Sam, Ben, and I discussed various things and then were dropped off. It was very nice how Ben sat and waited for both of us to make sure that we got into the house before driving off.
It really was a blast, and I hope all of us do this again soon! Of course, I have a lot of work to get caught up on, so it probably won't happen until summer (or near then), but that's not very far away at least.
